Cost paid per virtual byte to confirm a transaction (sat/vB)
Definition
Satoshis per virtual byte the sender paid for inclusion. Higher = more urgency or congestion. Whale TXs paying ≥3× the median fee-rate often signal time-pressure (deadline, opportunity, market-event reaction).
Context anchor
1–10 sat/vB = quiet; 30–80 = busy; 100+ = congested or high-urgency
