Flow Types
Self-Send
Sender = recipient — wallet rotating its own UTXOs (not a real flow)
Definition
A TX where sender address = recipient address. Typically wallet rotation, UTXO consolidation, or change-output sweep. ~90% of mempool noise at the ≥500-BTC level. Excluded by default from headline counters; include for cluster forensics.
Context anchor
~50-60% of all TXs ≥500 BTC are self_send — operationally opaque, economically near-zero
Example
1,200 BTC self-send — wallet consolidating UTXOs to one output
