Trader who hits an existing orderbook offer — pays higher fee, gets instant fill
Definition
Trader removing liquidity from the orderbook (market order or aggressive limit). Pays higher "taker fee" (~0.1-0.4%) than a "maker" who adds liquidity (~0.0-0.2%). Most retail trading is taker. Whale exchange-inflows often signal taker-sells coming.
